For the last few days, I was
sitting in front of my notes I already took for my CAJ but just could not
figure out how to start. Maybe because my “notes” were just a collection of my project’s
title “Silicon Valley” written in many different styles and colors. I just
needed to get my acts together and finally start researching. That is what I
did and I found really interesting facts and stories about the Silicon Valley,
the companies which are located there and about the people who live there.
This first post is an introduction
to roughly tell you what this CAJ blog will be about. My topic is, as already
mentioned earlier, The Silicon Valley. I do not know if it is just my friends
and me or if it is the same with you, but when I first told them about the name
of this Valley they said, and I quote “It’s cool that you write about fake
boobs in your English course!” If you now also think, “Yeeeah boobs” I,
unfortunately, have to disappoint you :)
The Silicon Valley is the name for
the South Bay portion of the San Francisco Bay Area in Northern California, US.
It is home to many of the world’s largest technology corporations, such as
Google, Facebook and eBay.
No, do not worry; I am not going to
give you information about Google and Facebook you already know anyway. There
is so much more to write about the Silicon Valley than you would expect – trust
me!
Here is a short list, which shows
you what is going to come next:
(I will update it regularly, as my
focus will probably change over the course of time)
·
What was there before all these technology
corporations came?
·
Who came first?
·
What pops up first when you google “The Silicon
Valley”
·
Reasons why this is the right place for start
ups
·
Which not so famous companies are there?
·
How does these companies influence my/our lives?
·
People living in the Silicon Valley
Well, I think this is a good list
to start and I hope you are already interested – at least I am J
Have a nice day, Christina J
